Life is Short

RIP Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs’ passing really rocked me. It really did. He died at just 56. I’m 53 myself and have found myself more than a little lost, and unclear on my purpose, the past 4 years since returning Stateside.

Then I read the following citation credited to Steve Jobs;

“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”

Is there anyone, anyplace or anything getting rent-free space in your head that you just did not invite? If your peace of mind, position or dreams depends on someone, somewhere or something else’s actions, that person, place or thing controls you.

Our reaction starts within. The formula as I see it is simple:

- Our thoughts lead to our feelings
- Our feelings lead to our actions
- Our actions produce our results

Steve Jobs Founding Apple

Let’s all serve the eviction notices today.

I figure I’ve got “at least” 3 more years. Why not just go for it and see if I can make a deep and lasting dent.

What are you up to?
