Tornado Warning!
You won’t believe this (or maybe you will).
God’s Will or bad luck or ‘manifest destiny’. I don’t know, but what I do know is that when I got to the YMCA tonight, to do an hour of cardiovascular workout, I was met by some freaked out attendants. They were all freaked out because there are Summer thunderstorms (again) tonight and a tornado was spotted near Dixon Illinois.
That’s not good but Dixon is 42 miles away and pretty much the wrong direction for a tornado to hit Rockford unless it were using GPS. The 3 attendants were all near panic trying to herd everyone in the building to the lockers, where presumably that’s where the crews would find all of the bodies after the tornado hit. I could not imagine there was no clear operations policy and procedure for managing the facility in the case of a severe storm or tornado. Maybe there is but, as anxiety was high, I guess its the same as placing a sticker with 911 on it by your phone so that you can remember the number in times of emergency.
As it was clear there was no workout there tonight I high-tailed it back home. I’ll do the Wii Fit tonight. I hate the thing but a commitment is a d*%m commitment.
Tomorrow is a new day and at least I wrote a blog post about it. Yay me…
